Newcastle United VS Manchester United was set up to be a fantastic game. 3rd place Vs 5th pace a top 4 challengers clash. Newcastle united started the game on the front foot coming at united. The fans were clearly up the game and in fine form themselves, believing in their players. Newcastle played fantastically both offensively and defensively making little to no mistakes and capitalising on the mistakes united made in the midfield commonly coming from Bruno Fernandes. A strong mention goes out to Joe Willock who had a quality game getting in the correct positions and getting into places which frustrated united, in the first half it seemed that all he missed was that finishing touch, which he clearly had in the second half, scoring a goal.

In terms of Manchester United, I can name 3 players who were “fine”. Martinez, Varane and de gea kept united in the game and without them it could have easily been 4 or 5 nil. The lack of a mid block showed the clear struggle of missing Casemiro and Eriksen. United’s game seemed to be hit it up and try and counter. Which clearly didn’t work. The substitutions in the second half were clearly an attempt to try and at least nick a goal but still nothing improved. If anything this

3 takes from the game:

-Newcastle played class.

-United lacked a mid block

-There’s still a lot of work to be done at Manchester United.
